One dead in crash between truck and motorcycle south of Hope Mills

CUMBERLAND COUNTY (WTVD) -- The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle south of Hope Mills in Cumberland County.

It happened on Chicken Foot Road at Yarborough Road around 1:30 p.m. Friday. Troopers said the motorcycle was headed south on Chicken Foot and attempted to turn left into a restaurant parking lot when it was hit by the northbound pickup.

The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
