Durham man charged in hit and run

DURHAM (WTVD) -- The Durham Police Department has made an arrest in a hit-and-run crash that left a motorcyclist with critical injuries.

The accident happened May 20 at Old Chapel Hill Road and Williamsburg Road.

The motorcyclist - Thomas Stephen Bigelow, 61, of Durham - remains hospitalized.

Tuesday morning, investigators arrested 37-year-old Stanley Keitt and charged him with felony hit-and-run, driving while his license was revoked, failure to yield right of way and driving left of center.

He was placed in Durham County Jail under a $1 million bond.

Police said they found the damaged red Nissan Sentra Keitt was driving behind some buildings on Shannon Road on May 21.
