Here's what you need to know if you're headed to Chapel Hill tonight
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- School and town officials are expecting large numbers of people downtown Monday night as the Tar Heels take on the Villanova Wildcats in the NCAA Championship. Tip-off will be shortly after 9:15 p.m.

If you're headed that way, here's some important information you need to know:
If you're going to the Dean Smith Center to watch the game, doors open at 8 p.m. to students, staff, and faculty and 8:30 p.m. to the general public. Admission is free but parking will be $5.
Parking is available in the Manning Lot, Bowles Lot, Business School Deck, Rams Head Deck, Craige Deck. Parking lots on campus may be restricted or closed.
Chapel Hill officials say parking downtown will be limited, and no parking in the neighborhoods adjacent to downtown is permitted.
Vehicles parked on any streets which may close will be towed beginning at 7 p.m. Any vehicles parked illegally will be ticketed and towed.
In the event of a UNC win, some streets downtown may close. They could include:
- Franklin Street - from Raleigh Street to Mallette Street
- Columbia Street - from Cameron Avenue to Rosemary Street
- Raleigh Street - from Cameron Avenue to East Franklin Street
- Henderson Street - from East Rosemary Street to East Franklin Street
Traffic would also be diverted:
- Southbound traffic on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd will be merged into one lane approaching West Rosemary Street
- Eastbound traffic on West Franklin Street will be merged into one lane approaching Mallette Street
- Westbound traffic on East Franklin Street will be merged into one lane approaching Hillsborough Street
- Northbound traffic on South Columbia Street will be required to turn left or right at Cameron Avenue

Chapel Hill Transit routes will follow regular routes and schedules Monday.
Town officials said there will alcohol checkpoints as well as DWI enforcement.
Weapons, alcoholic beverages, glass bottles, paint, fireworks and explosives, combustible or flammable substances, animals, and coolers are prohibited downtown.
Climbing light poles and trees are prohibited as well as jumping bonfires, according to officials.
