$40,000 worth of meth seized in Clinton

CLINTON, NORTH CAROLINA (WTVD) -- Police say 2.8 pounds of crystal methamphetamine was seized from a Clinton home on Wednesday.



$40,000 worth of the drug was found inside an electronic device at 499 Sampson Acres Lane.



Sheriff Jimmy Thornton shows the seized meth.


Authorities charged 56-year-old Fransisco Lopez and 28-year-old Claudia Rendon with conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine.



Both suspects are due in court on September 9th.
