Man struck while walking across Raleigh intersection

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital late Saturday night after he was struck by a car in a Raleigh intersection.



Police said the accident happened around 11:41 p.m. at the intersection of Hammond Road and Rush Street. Authorities said a 2005 Pontiac struck 44-year-old Angel Berbena Chavez, of Garner, while he was walking across Hammond Road.



Police identified the driver as 29-year-old Keith Ryan Hallman of Raleigh.



Chavez was taken to WakeMed with life-threatening injures. Hallman was also treated for minor injuries.



Police have not said if Hallman will be charged.
