SAN DIEGO (WTVD) -- A man accused in a Fayetteville shooting earlier this month has been captured in San Diego, California.
U.S. Marshals located 24-year-old Jamal McSwain and took him into custody. He's charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and possession of a stolen firearm.
He will be extradited back to North Carolina.
Fayetteville police said McSwain shot a man January 2 and then left the area in a car driven by 22-year-old Jayah Jordan.
The pair allegedly ran from police and crashed. Jordan was injured and captured at the scene, but McSwain got away on foot.
Jordan is charged with fleeing to elude, driving while license revoked, and accessory after the fact.
