Motorcyclist killed in Raleigh crash

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A motorcyclist has died following an accident in Raleigh Monday afternoon.



It happened on Glenwood Avenue near Glen Eden Drive around 1:10 p.m. when a motorcycle collided with an SUV.



The motorcyclist, 58-year-old Robert Bates, was taken to the hospital where he later was pronounced dead.



The roadway was closed for a short time.



Police say Bates failed to yield to the SUV while attempting a left turn.
