Chow Down at Chatham Co. Fresh Catch

NC Fresh Catch is going all out for a music and seafood festival. It's out at Pittsboro Fairgrounds, but we think an oyster roast, fish fry, seafood boil, beer and all-day music are worth the drive! NC Fresh Catch is bringing together all things good for a big bash out at the Pittsboro Fairgrounds. Expect an oyster roast, fish fry, seafood boil, smoked turkey and bbq from Chatham Barbecue, pizza from Bella Donna and desserts. If you thought that was a lot, check out the music line-up The schedule is packed with six local acts spanning genres from jazz to country to Americana. Top all of that off with craft beer and you've got yourself quite a day!

Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door. Food and drink sold separately (all plates are between $6"$12). The event is both indoor and outdoor, so the show will go on in the event of adverse weather conditions. (Photo via @mikeriley711)

Slumdog Millionaire

Movies and wine go together like Hall & Oates, Burt & Ernie and PB&J. Soak in the breeze on the lawn while sipping local wine from Doyle's Vineyard - there's nothing more romantic! The quaint Doyle's Vinyard opens its lush outdoor space to moonlit movie gazing. And did we mention it's free? Roll up after 6p (movies start at 8p, but you'll wanna get there early and claim your space!), bring some lawn chairs, and enjoy blockbuster classics with local vino (or soda and water for purchase if you're packin' some little ones), food truck desserts and wine slushies! There's no classier way to beat the summer heat than sip sweet vino while frolicking in the grass. Weather got you down? No worries - if it's too cold, then the screening will take place in the "cave", their equally classy indoor drinking area. Cheers! (Photo via @doylesvineyard)

Party Up at Doyle's One Year Anniversary

Doyle's - that gorgeous vineyard that hosts free movies on Fridays - is celebrating its first birthday! Join the party for wine, food, music, fire pits and more! Doyle's Vineyard knows how to throw a classy event - they've got free outdoor movies on Fridays, a "cave" where you can sample their wines and they even hosted vino and candy pairing night on Halloween. So you definitely don't want to miss this! On 11/14, wish them a happy birthday and come on over to the vineyard for some free wine sampling, snacks, door prizes, giveaways, a nice fire pit to warm up to, live music (DJ Brandon, DJ C Ross, Rumbach Music), corn hole and more. Sip in this inimitable rural setting and have some fun! (Photo via @arsaravia)

Collage: Make Your Own Holiday Cards & Gift Tags

The term "collage" was coined by Pablo Picasso and George Braque in the early twentieth century when it became a distinctive part of modern art. Come explore the many design elements of collage with teacher and artist, Melinda Rittenhouse. In this class you will use an assortment of materials to create your own set of holiday cards and gift tags. We liked Indio Durham for all of their unique home decor and jewelry, but now we're falling head over heels for them because of their sweet workshop line-up! Erica Kane Fink, their resident expert in printmaking, mixed media, and all things crafty, is looking to help Durham dwellers engage their inner artist. All materials are included in these workshops - just bring your creativity and friends! To sign up and get more pricing info, check out the Indio Durham website! (Photo via @ericakanefink)

Barks & Brews at Dog Days

Chill out on Beer Durham's patio with a freshly tapped beer and a clear conscience"'cause on Sunday you can sip and save the animals too! Beer Durham is hosting its monthly Dog Days fundraiser to raise awareness for pet drives and adoptions, and throw in some funds for the Animal Protection Society of Durham.

Bring your own four-legged friend! Photographer Jessica Arden will be taking professional pup portraits that you can take home and enter for a chance to be in the Dogs Of Beer Durham 2016 Calendar - all the proceeds of which will go to APS! There will also be Aviator Brewing Company, video producer Madden Meiners, and Relay Foods. And of course, there's always that serendipitous chance of going out for a pint and coming back with a little furry friend - APS will have some adoptable dogs on site! Go Berzerk at the Carrboro Bazaar

End your weekend on a high note with The Bazaar Arts and Craft Market, an eclectic array of vendors, food trucks, and more. Mosey down to Carrboro for an artsy, artisan, local-infused spectacle. The Bazaar Arts and Craft Market takes over Carrboro Town Commons for an afternoon of eclectic markets, vendors, music, food trucks, and tons of goodies for you to take home. There's so much to see, buy, eat and sip - you're bound to fall in love with something (if not everything) here!

Pair Wine & Pie for a Cause

It's the best of both worlds! Sample wine, pair it with pie and help support an amazing cause that aids animals in need in the Bull City. Calling all winos - it's time for dessert. Doyle's Vineyard is hosting a charity wine and pie pairing session on a Sunday. This beats all your lazy brunch plans without a doubt! Come by on Sunday between 12 and 4p for a pairing of four wines and four pies for $20.

A portion of the proceeds will go toward APS of Durham's Tiffany Fund, which helps provide emergency medical care for stray, homeless and abandoned animals at the shelter. Wine for a cause (or rather, "paws")? We can all get on board with that! Email kristin@doylesvineyard.com for event inquiries and reservations. (Photo via @libertyburger)
