Bear spotted near downtown Durham

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- A bear was spotted just east of downtown Durham Wednesday evening.

An ABC11 crew at the scene saw the bear near Longmeadow Park, right off Holloway Street.

The animal got away before we were able to get it on video.

Police were in the area searching for the bear.
