70-year-old man identified in Fayetteville homicide investigation

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Friday evening.

Police responded to the area of Pelt Drive and Carlyle Drive for a welfare check just before 8 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as Odis Norris Jr., 70, of Fayetteville.
