Adventure Landing in Raleigh closing its doors after nearly 40 years
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Adventure Landing Raleigh will permanently close Sunday, ending a 38-year run as a popular destination for family entertainment in the Triangle.
Adventure Landing announced the closure on Facebook on Thursday. The park has long been a place where families and friends gathered to celebrate birthdays, race go-karts, play miniature golf, enjoy arcade games and make lasting memories.
"It has truly been a privilege to bring fun, laughter, and lifelong memories to so many families throughout the years," said Hank Woodburn, owner of Adventure Landing Raleigh. "We are incredibly grateful to the guests, employees, schools, churches, businesses, and community organizations that have supported us over the years. From birthday parties and family outings to our annual Easter Egg Hunts on the mini golf course and countless community events, we've cherished every opportunity to give back and be part of so many special moments. While we are saddened to say goodbye, we will always be thankful for the memories we've created together."
Adventure Landing responded to a comment made under its initial announcement on Facebook saying it will be auctioning off many items from the park. It will release more details soon with a link to the auction site.
Guests are encouraged to visit the park before Sunday to enjoy their favorite attractions one last time and redeem any outstanding arcade tokens and tickets, gift certificates, Groupons, promotional certificates and other unused offers.
