Amber Alert canceled after 2 Brunswick County children found safe, deputies say

SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WTVD) -- An AMBER Alert issued for two missing children in Brunswick County has been canceled after both were found safe, authorities said.

Deputies had been searching for 9-year-old Chance Tyler Wilcox and 11-year-old Wyatt Christopher Mark Wilcox, who were reported missing Friday morning and believed to be in danger.

The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office said the boys have now been located safely.

Earlier, investigators believed the children were with 35-year-old Brandon Mark Wilcox. He is now in custody.

Authorities had not released details about the circumstances surrounding the alert but said there were concerns for the children's safety.

The children were last known to be in the Southport area, prompting a statewide alert and search. It's unclear where the children were found.
