Authorities continue to investigate deaths of two siblings found in Henderson home

13, 17-year-old found dead in Vance County home

HENDERSON, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Vance County Sheriff's Office is investigating the deaths of two teenagers.

Deputies found a 13-year-old girl and 17-year-old boy dead inside a home on Torri Drive in Henderson Monday night. Authorities confirmed the two were siblings, and the cause of death is pending autopsy and toxicology results.

The sheriff's office said four siblings, ages 12, 13, 16, and 17, lived in the home, and their father was present at the time of the two teens' deaths.

"I appreciate the outpouring of concern from our community after the recent deaths of two children. I ask for your prayers and support for the professionals working tirelessly to gather each and every fact available to find out exactly why these children are no longer here with us. I also ask for your patience as important investigative steps must be completed before additional details can be released to the public," said Vance County Sheriff Curtis R. Brame.

There is no known threat to the public, with further updates to follow as more information is available.
