Car crashes into pole, takes down power lines in Hillsborough

HILLSBOROUGH (WTVD) -- Crews worked for hours repairing down power lines after a driver crashed into a utility pole on US 70 in Hillsborough early Wednesday morning.

The accident happened around 1 a.m. near West Hill Avenue.

Investigators say the driver lost control, and hit the power pole before ending up in a ditch.

It is unclear if the driver was injured.

The roadway was closed for hours as crews worked to repair the damage.
