CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Two people are in custody after a break-in at a Triangle-area trading card shop Tuesday morning, according to police.
Cary police responded around 5:20 a.m. to a burglary in progress at Triangle Area Trading Cards on Jones Franklin Road, authorities said. Officers quickly arrived and took two suspects into custody.
The store's owner shared video from the scene, saying the suspects made off with roughly $45,000 worth of merchandise. All of the stolen items have since been recovered, according to police.
Despite the damage, the owner said he's grateful for the swift response and support from the community.
"We've worked a long time to really build this up, and then all of a sudden, someone just wants to come in and tear it down, so it's scary," he said. "We're going to move forward. There is nothing but hobby love for everybody in this community, and we're going to rebound."
Cleanup is ongoing at the store, but the owner says they expect to reopen as soon as Wednesday.
Police say the investigation remains active, and no additional details have been released
