CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Emergency personnel are at the scene after several people were hurt in a collision involving a construction trailer and a passenger train in Cary on Wednesday afternoon.
It happened around 2:05 p.m. at NE Maynard Road and East Chatham Street. Police, fire and EMS crews are at the scene.

Authorities said that at least six people were injured. Four people were taken to a hospital, EMS crews told ABC11.
All injuries appeared to be minor, EMS said.

Amtrak told ABC11 that train 72 was traveling from Charlotte to Raleigh with 46 passengers onboard when a "vehicle obstructing the track" collided with the train.
Cary Police said a construction trailer detached from a truck that was crossing the tracks and remained on the tracks when the train came through.
Cary Police units are working with CSX Transportation, Amtrak, NCDOT, and Cary Fire to clear scattered debris. NE Maynard Road is closed between Chapel Hill Road and E. Chatham Street.
"Preventing incidents and fatalities on the railroad is a priority for Amtrak. According to the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), trespassing along railroad rights-of-way is the leading cause of rail-related deaths in America, and railroad-highway grade crossing incidents are the second leading cause of rail-related deaths in America," Amtrak said in a statement. "These incidents can affect everyone involved - those who are injured or die and their families, our train crews, and our passengers. They also serve as critical reminders about the importance of obeying the law and of exercising extreme caution around railroad tracks and grade crossings."
