Investigation underway after man shot, killed in Cumberland County, deputies say

A man was shot and killed Saturday morning in Cumberland County.

Eyewitness News was on the scene at the 2900 block of Dwelle Drive in Fayetteville. According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded shortly after midnight and found a man with a gunshot wound, who was taken to a medical center where he died from his injuries.

Neighbors told ABC11 that the victim appeared to have been shot multiple times.

His identity is being withheld until his next of kin is notified.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. However, they believe it is not a random incident and there is no threat to the public.
