WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- This might be the most heartwarming dating story you'll ever hear.
9-year-old Gordon Dunsmore of Holly Springs is so enamored with golden retrievers that he's willing to spend his allowance just to spend time with one.
To fulfill her son's dream, Jennifer posted a "weird question" on two local community pages, asking if anyone with a golden retriever would let Gordon meet their dog
She didn't have much hope for responses, "I thought it would be crickets."

Well, she thought wrong. Over a hundred owners offered playdates with their golden retrievers, free of charge.
"People responded so quickly," Jennifer said, "blasting photos of their adorable golden retrievers. I couldn't keep up. I was also getting DMs. I was shocked at the response."
One owner, Michelle Schwed, shared her golden retriever Teddy with Gordon, who had a blast playing fetch and running around the yard.
"I have grown up with golden retrievers," she said. "They are super family dogs and when I saw the post I thought, 'I have a golden retriever I want to make someone's day.'"
Now, Gordon is on a mission to meet all the dogs whose owners responded to his mom's post, hoping to take photos with each one to decorate his bedroom wall.
"It's like dating," His mom Jennifer laughed.
She is beginning to understand his love for the breed, describing golden retrievers as "sweet, happy, positive, and nonjudgmental" -- qualities she believes the world could use more of.
The family is now considering adopting a golden retriever of their own, inspired by the joy and positivity these dogs have brought into their lives.
