
DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Police are investigating after a person was shot on Tuesday evening in downtown Durham.
It happened about 8:40 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Peabody Street, near Brightleaf Square. Officers arrived to find a boy with a gunshot wound. The age of the juvenile was not immediately released.
Emergency Medical Services took the juvenile to a hospital with what were described as serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The incident remains under active investigation.
