Durham police investigate after man found fatally shot

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police are investigating a homicide that happened Monday night in the 1100 block of Linwood Avenue.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at 8:43 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, 21-year-old Kevin David Powell, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers said the shooting did not appear to be random.

The investigation is ongoing.
