Tarboro teacher charged after renting hotel room for juveniles

TARBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- A teacher is under investigation after allegedly renting a hotel room for four juveniles.

According to the Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a report involving a staff member at W.A. Pattillo Middle School in Tarboro.

Detectives said Fantasia Shianne Bridgers, 30, a teacher, had been renting a room at SureStay Plus with her information and had four unsupervised juveniles living in the room.

This was reported to the Edgecombe County Department of Social Services and Edgecombe County Public Schools.

Bridgers, of Tarboro, was charged with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of failure to report abuse or neglect.

The children ranged in age from 1 to 15.

She was given a $5,000 unsecured bond.

W. A. Pattillo and Edgecombe County Public Schools cooperated fully with and assisted in the investigation, according to officials.
