Fayetteville woman wins $100,000 on scratch-off ticket

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Fayetteville woman bought a hefty scratch-off ticket and it paid off in an even bigger fashion.

Maehelen Gray purchased a $30 Cash Payday ticket and won a $100,000 top prize.

Gray bought the lucky ticket from Ramsey 24 Food Mart on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville.

She went to lottery headquarters Wednesday to claim her prize and after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $72,018.

The $100,000 Cash Payday game debuted in March with 80 $100,000 top prizes. Seventy-one $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed.
