CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- Freezing temperatures are causing underground problems Friday morning with two water main breaks affecting drivers.
One is in Chapel Hill, while the other is in Cary, where crews worked overnight to repair the line and are now monitoring icy spots.
According to the Orange Water and Sewer Authority, crews have repaired the leaking water line on East Franklin Street near Roosevelt Road. All lanes of E. Franklin Street have reopened.

Cary Parkway was reduced to one lane Thursday from Hampton Lee Court to Skipwythe Circle due to a water main break that occurred earlier that afternoon.
The incident was caused by aging infrastructure and ground chilling leading to pipe movement, leaving 120 homes without water.

Crews worked for hours to repair the water main and road, but significant water spillage raised concerns about freezing and icy street conditions. Salt was applied to prevent overnight freezing and hazardous driving.
Some neighbors reported being without water for hours, while others began seeing water flow restored.
ABC11's Sean Coffey and Jamiese Price contributed to this report.
