Water main break impacts traffic on Airport Boulevard in Cary, officials say

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Crews are working Friday to repair a water main break along Airport Boulevard, causing traffic disruptions in the area.

The break is located at Airport Boulevard and Sorrel Grove Church Road.

Officials say the center turn lane and the left through lane on Airport Boulevard heading toward I-40 are closed. Traffic from that left lane is being merged into the right through lane.

Drivers traveling from I-40 toward Perimeter Park Drive are not affected.

Repairs are expected to take approximately 12 hours, and traffic impacts could last into the evening.

Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and consider alternate routes.
