DAWSON COUNTY, Ga. -- A bride and groom leaving their wedding were among those onboard a helicopter that crashed Friday in Georgia.
The groom and the pilot did not survive.
The Robinson R-66 helicopter crashed down in a densely wooded area in Dawson County just after 10 p.m.
Rescue crews had to use off road vehicles and chainsaws to reach the scene.
The couple were headed to the Peachtree-DeKalb airport with plans to depart on a honeymoon, family told ABC affiliate WSB.
The groom, 25-year-old Dave Fiji was also a pilot for commercial airline Delta, father George Fiji said.
He said his son had expressed concern about flying in the rain and fog, with such low visibility.
The bride is expected to be released from the hospital soon.
The NTSB is investigating. The name of the pilot has not been released.
