RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Raleigh woman says she felt like a kid waking up on Christmas morning after winning more than $379,000 in a digital instant game Friday night.
Jessica Hinton of Raleigh said she was having trouble sleeping Friday night, so she decided to try her luck on a Digital Instant game. That's when she won a jackpot worth more than $379,000.
Hinton spent 50 cents to play and won the top-level "Alakazam" jackpot in the Magic Winnings Vegas game. The Digital Instant game features a jackpot that can be won at any time. The odds of winning were 1 in 129 million.
"I was stunned," Hinton said. "I was like a kid waking up on Christmas."
Hinton claimed her prize Wednesday at lottery headquarters. After required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home more than $270,000.
She said she plans to use her winnings to buy a home and a car, while also investing and helping people experiencing homelessness.
