LOUISBURG, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Franklin County man won a $1 million top prize after taking a chance on a $10 scratch-off ticket.

Kerolos Makram of Louisburg bought his lucky LOTERIA MULTIPLIER ticket from Marco's Mini Mart on N.C. 561 in Louisburg.

When Makram arrived at lottery headquarters Tuesday, he had an important decision to make. He could receive his prize as an annuity of $50,000 a year for 20 years or take a lump-sum payment of $600,000.

He chose the lump-sum option and, after required tax, took home over $432,000.

The LOTERIA MULTIPLIER game debuted in March with four $1 million top prizes. One $1 million prize remains to be claimed.
