SAS Institute cuts 300 jobs companywide

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- SAS Institute confirms that it is cutting 300 positions across the company.

SAS is a prominent North Carolina analytics software provider and did not share specifics on the location of the layoffs. The company has more than 400 offices worldwide and its main campus is located in Cary.

They said employees who are affected can apply for other open positions or take advantage of transition services.

The provided this statement to ABC11 about the job cuts: " These changes are intended to align SAS resources with our long-term strategic priorities as we continue to invest in key growth areas, including R&D, sales and cloud. There are currently several hundred open positions around the world. We are always focused on the best path forward for the business, aligning our resources with customer needs, strategic priorities and sustainable growth, so we will not speculate on any further changes."

The layoffs were implemented last week, the company confirms.
