2 Powerball winners in NC: 1 ticket worth $1M in Warrenton, other $200K in Johnston County

NORTH CAROLINA (WTVD) -- The Powerball jackpot is still growing after no winning ticket was drawn Saturday night. However, someone in North Carolina joined the lottery's millionaire's club.

A lucky $2 ticket worth $1 million was purchased in Warren County at the Tobacco Plus on East Macon Street, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL).

The ticket matched the numbers on all five white balls. The odds of matching numbers on all five white balls are 1 in 11.6 million.

In addition to the winning ticket in Warrenton, one worth $200,000 was purchased in Johnston County. That ticket was bought at the Speedway on North Brightleaf Boulevard in Smithfield, NCEL says.

Winners in North Carolina have 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize.

Jackpot grows

Monday's Powerball drawing offers a $633 million jackpot, or $277.3 million in cash. The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million.
