I-40 West closed after crash near Exit 306B, NCDOT says

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A section of Interstate 40 westbound was shut down Wednesday morning following a crash in Wake County, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

NCDOT said as of right now, one of four westbound lanes are open near Exit 306B.

Traffic cameras show significant backups in the area as drivers are being forced to find alternate routes
