RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Four hundred pediatric patients will receive Carolina Hurricanes-themed hospital gowns as part of a donation announced Monday.
Amy Daniels, executive director of the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation, announced Monday that 400 pediatric patients will receive Hurricanes-themed hospital gowns through a $10,000 donation from the foundation.
Patients at Maynard Children's Hospital, Duke Children's Hospital and UNC Children's Hospital will receive the gowns.
The donation helped provide 1,000 special hospital gowns designed by Brave Gowns.
Representatives from the Carolina Hurricanes, Kids Who Give and ECU Health will officially present the gowns during an event at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Maynard Children's Hospital in Greenville. Organizers say they will also learn more about the impact the project will have on patients and their families.
The visit will include an appearance by Stormy, the Carolina Hurricanes mascot, who will spend time with pediatric patients and their families throughout the hospital.
