Thousands gather at NC Capitol to see Buddhist monks 'Walk for Peace'

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Despite the weather, thousands of people came out to the Capitol to see Buddhist Monks during their "Walk for Peace."

The people who braved the cold said what they saw was an emotional experience.

"It's very valuable. I mean, it's a very troublesome time we're in right now. There is many conflicts all around the world," said Adam Calingaerc.

The monks walked after having a peace gathering at the State Capitol for about an hour.

There was supposed to be a peace talk this afternoon, but it was cancelled due to the cold weather.
