Morrisville police investigate shooting that left two people dead

MORRISVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Morrisville police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead Saturday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched around 2:28 p.m. to a report of shots fired at a home in the 1000 block of Hildebran Lane, according to the Morrisville Police Department.

Investigators later confirmed that two deaths occurred - one homicide and one suicide. Police have not released the names of those involved or additional details about what led up to the incident.

Authorities said investigators are actively working to determine the sequence of events.

Police emphasized there is no known threat to the public.
