Power restored in Durham near Brier Creek after car crash

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- A multi-car crash left thousands without power Friday morning in Durham near Brier Creek.

Homes and businesses were without electricity, as well as street lights at major intersections.

Durham Police Department said the crash happened around 6:15 a.m. along Page Road near Page Road Extension, damaging several utility poles. One person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Motorists were asked to avoid this area.
