NC woman indicted for role in deadly mass shooting at Islamic Center of San Diego

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WTVD) -- A North Carolina woman has been charged in connection with a mass shooting that happened at an Islamic center in California.

According to the Forsyth County District Attorney's Office, a grand jury has indicted the Winston-Salem woman for her involvement in the May deadly mass shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego.

District Attorney Jim O'Neill held a news conference Monday afternoon in Winston-Salem to release more details.

Three people were killed in the shooting, including a security guard credited with keeping it from being worse. Both suspects, ages 17 and 18, died by suicide, police said.
