Man charged with murder in shooting death of Sanford woman

SANFORD, N.C. (WTVD) -- Sanford Police have made an arrest in a shooting that left a woman dead.

It happened just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Linden Avenue.

Officers found 34-year-old Judy Ann Jones shot in the chest. She later died at Central Carolina Hospital.

Officers detained 34-year-old Chrisshawn Terrell Alston at the scene.

He was charged with murder.

Police did not say whether the two knew each other.

Alston was being held without bond and made a first court appearance on Friday.
