Charter bus overturns on I‑95 in Robeson County; 2 airlifted, dozens Injured

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Emergency crews in Robeson County responded Saturday night to a serious crash on Interstate 95 after a charter bus overturned

When units arrived, they found the bus on its side with 40 people on board near the 30-mile marker.

Two passengers were seriously hurt and flown to area trauma centers, officials said. The others were evaluated, treated and taken off site while they waited for another charter bus to pick them up and continue the trip.

As of early Sunday, one lane of I-95 had reopened, but the bus remained overturned as crews continued working the scene.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol are investigating what caused the crash.
