Johnston County suspect caught after leading deputies on chase in Harnett County

LILLINGTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A police chase ended in Lillington on Tuesday after a suspect fled from Harnett County deputies and hit multiple vehicles.

The sheriff's office said deputies tried to stop a man on Highway 421 near Prospect Church Road in Erwin.

That's when the driver, who was identified as Dominic Williams, and was wanted by the Johnston County Sheriff's Office for assault on a law enforcement officer, refused to stop and took off toward Lillington.

Deputies said that during the chase, Williams struck several vehicles before a PIT maneuver was used to bring the chase to an end.

Williams then got out and ran but was caught a short distance away.

He now faces multiple charges.
