Search warrants reveal what investigators found after arrests tied to Courtney Jordan Foundation

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- New details have emerged in an ABC11 I-Team Troubleshooter investigation into the Courtney Jordan Foundation (CJF), a Durham nonprofit that has been accused of failing to pay dozens of employees.

ABC11 has obtained search warrants revealing what investigators say they found when CJF founder Courtney Jordan and the organization's chief financial officer, Nick Gallardo, were located and arrested last week in Person County.

Jordan and Gallardo have been the focus of multiple ABC11 I-Team Troubleshooter investigations following allegations that employees of the nonprofit were not paid for their work.

According to the search warrants, investigators recovered multiple cell phones, laptop computers, cash, notebooks containing financial account information and identification documents belonging to other people. The warrants also indicate authorities recovered suspected illegal narcotics.

In Person County, Jordan is charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, injury to personal property and second-degree trespassing.

Gallardo faces charges of felony conspiracy, second-degree trespassing and simple possession of a controlled substance in Person County.

Both men are also facing charges in Durham, including obtaining property by false pretenses and conspiracy charges connected to activities involving the Courtney Jordan Foundation.

The Person County Sheriff's Office has indicated that additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.

ABC11 has repeatedly reached out to Jordan and Gallardo for comment but has not received a response.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court later this month.
