Triangle's first newborn of 2016 welcomed at WakeMed

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- It's an annual tradition that welcomes in the New Year -- introducing you to the Triangle's first newborn for 2016.

This year, the honor goes to WakeMed in Raleigh. Irfaan Nurislam was born at 12:24 a.m. Friday morning.

He weighs 6 pounds and 9 ounces. Mother and baby are both doing well.
