GARNER, N.C. (WTVD) -- New details on a Garner public adjuster at the center of an ABC11 Troubleshooter investigation. That public adjuster, Tyler Englin, was arrested in Johnston County and charged with felony embezzlement.

The North Carolina Department of Insurance accuses Englin, owner of TDE Claims LLC, of embezzling more than $133,000 from a client.

According to the warrant, Englin took an insurance claim payment meant for his client. The charge is related to a case in Catawba County and is due in court on Friday.

In September, ABC11 Troubleshooter Diane Wilson investigated Englin and his company. A Cary couple hired Englin and said Englin kept close to $100,000 of their insurance money for work that was done to their home.

Also, a roofing company that recommended Englin to several homeowners says Englin did not pay them for the work they did on those jobs, despite Englin getting the insurance money. Englin has not been charged in these cases.

The NC Department of Insurance says the arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation into Englin. NC Insurance Commissioner Causey thanked investigators for their hard work and for the complaints filed by victims.

"I urge people to report suspicious activity like this so our special agents can pursue cases against those who commit fraud and other white-collar crimes," Commissioner Causey said.
