UNC's Chapel Thrill Game Day concert series continues with star-studded lineup
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WTVD) -- Chapel Thrill Game Day is a fun, family-friendly event that brings together Tar Heel fans before every UNC home football game. The event has returned for the 2026 football season.
Located on Polk Place in the heart of campus and presented by the Rams Club, the pregame party features national recording artists in a free concert series spanning genres including electronic dance music, country, alternative pop, hip-hop and rock.
"Once again, we have assembled an impressive lineup of artists, partners and sponsors, offering hospitality and entertainment options for all ages to enjoy. We remain committed to providing fun and memorable experiences before, during and after every home football game at Carolina," Carolina Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Revenue Officer Rick Barakat said.
Chapel Thrill Game Day opens three hours before kickoff for every home game, with performers taking the stage in front of Wilson Library two hours before kickoff.
Four-time NBA champion Shaquille O'Neal made a special appearance on the UNC campus Sept. 12 as DJ Diesel as part of the Chapel Thrill Game Day concert series before kickoff of the Tar Heels' game against East Tennessee State.
Below are the remaining dates in the 2026 Chapel Thrill Concert Series schedule:
- Oct. 3 vs. Notre Dame- Chase Rice
- Oct. 24 vs. Syracuse- Parmalee
- Oct. 31 vs. Miami- Neon Trees
- Nov. 14 vs. Louisville- Waka Flocka Flame
- Nov. 28 vs. NC State- 38 Special

- Modelo Kickoff Club and tailgating open; Chapel Thrill DJ begins
- Coca-Cola Fan Zone opens
Two and a half hours prior to kickoff
- Old Well Walk begins
Two hours prior to kickoff
- Chapel Thrill Concert Series, presented by the Rams Club, begins in Polk Place
One and a half hours prior to kickoff
- Carolina Drumline and Marching Tar Heels perform in The Pit
One hour prior to kickoff
- Modelo Kickoff Club and Coca-Cola Fan Zone close
