RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Unsettled weather is set to continue across central North Carolina this week, bringing a mix of conditions.
Clouds continue on Tuesday, with highs in the mid-70s. Light rain and scattered showers will be possible. As Imelda becomes a hurricane and continues to track away from the US, it takes its moisture away with it.
By Wednesday, sunshine will return as the storm system moves away from the coast. Temperatures are forecasted to rise later this week and into the weekend, as an upper ridge builds over the eastern U.S., with more persistent troughing in the west.

Imelda is expected to bring strong northeast winds along the Outer Banks, leading to coastal flooding and erosion. Areas around Wilmington and Myrtle Beach could see two to four inches of rain, though the storm's southward shift may keep totals on the lower end of that range.
