
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Two children in a toy car were struck by a vehicle, leaving one dead and one injured, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.
Deputies responded just before noon to a 911 call for a pedestrian hit at the 4000 block of Mena Drive.
The investigation showed a car crossed left of the center line and hit the children, who were in a toy car being pulled by their parents.
The children were rushed to a medical facility. A 2-year-old died from their injuries, and a 4-year-old was injured.

The driver of the car, Abinijah Lavon Lewis, 18, of Fayetteville, was also injured and taken for treatment. Charges are pending.
