
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Wake County Animal Shelter is temporarily closing for several months.
The center will undergo repairs and maintenance during that time, including to exposed brick, kennels, floors and walls.
That means the shelter will not be able to take in animals or offer adoptions.

Officials said the repairs are necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals.
The closure begins this Friday and runs through March 2.
