WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- A charter school in Wake Forest will hold a remote instruction day on Wednesday due to a threat.
Wake Preparatory Academy sent families a message saying, "We are writing to inform you that a report of a threat against our campus was received this morning. We are working closely with law enforcement to ensure the safety of students and staff. Out of an abundance of caution, the school will operate on a Remote Instruction Day today, January 21, 2026. Students should follow their usual remote learning instructions provided by their teachers."
If any students were already at school, parents should pick them up at the Harris Teeter on Capital Boulevard in Wake Forest.
Franklin County Sheriff's Office and Wake Forest police were investigating the threat.
