Here's a partial list of what's open on Christmas Eve and Christmas around the Triangle:
Schools
Schools closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Durham, Wake, Johnston, Orange, and Chatham counties.Check with individual districts to see when school is back in session.
Post Office
Local post offices are open Christmas Eve, however many will shorten lobby hours and close and noon.Post Offices will be closed on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25. Buses will run in some counties, but stop service around 7 p.m. Get more information by calling 919-485-RIDE (7433). Buses will not run Christmas Day.
Garbage pickup
