
WILSON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 15-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the shooting death of a 14-year-old, the Wilson Police Department said Thursday.
On Wednesday, police officers responded just before 8:45 a.m. to the 1300 block of Woodside Drive W about a gunshot wound.
Officers found a boy inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, where he later died.

The 15-year-old was charged with one count of Involuntary manslaughter and one count of possession of a stolen firearm.
He was being held at the Department of Juvenile Justice on Thursday
"The Wilson Police Department is deeply saddened by the loss of any life that is the result of gun violence, and that loss is amplified when it is the life of a child," WPD said in a release.
