KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a deadly shooting near Knightdale, the Wake County Sheriff's Office said Friday night.
Ronald Grizzel, 72, was charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Deputies said he and the victim, Jessica Wells, 43, knew each other.
On Friday morning, Grizzel was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries not related to his apprehension, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office said deputies found Jessica Wells with a gunshot wound Thursday around 12:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of Broken Arrow Court, in a Knightdale mobile home community.
She later died at a hospital. A man was taken into custody, but authorities did not immediately release his identity.

"I knew something happened, and the blue lights were all coming through my bedroom window," said neighbor Dottie Aborn.
Another neighbor, who asked that ABC11 not share her identity, said Thursday there's some relief that a man has been taken into custody.

"That's scary. I live right down the street," she said. "I don't understand this. This is a quiet neighborhood, and nobody ever comes around ... I enjoy walking through my neighborhood. I don't have no fears or nothing, but now it puts the fear of God in me."
The sheriff's office said it believed the shooting was an isolated incident. The case remains under investigation.
