93-year-old man victim of fox attack in Raleigh
RALEIGH (WTVD) -- An aggressive fox killed in Raleigh on Monday was rabid, according to authorities, but it's not clear if it's the same animal that attacked a 93-year-old man the day before.
On Sunday, Raleigh police responded to a call in the 200 block of Lynwood Lane. According to police, an aggressive fox had bitten a resident and attacked a cat.

On Monday, a construction worker killed an aggressive fox in the 300 block of Westridge Drive according to police. Authorities took the dead fox in for testing and determined that it had rabies.

The two locations are about a half mile apart. Officials were not able to determine if the fox killed was the same one that bit 93-year-old Harry Goodman.
ABC11 spoke with Goodman Wednesday after his latest doctor's appointment.
He said he was sitting when the animal came at him and clamped its teeth into his foot.
"Wouldn't let go, couldn't let go, and I was trying to kick him loose and he got loose and trotted off," said Goodman.
"I kicked on him and hollering and a neighbor came over," said Goodman. "He got lose and trotted off."

Wake County health officials suggest the following tips to help minimize rabies risks:
- Residents should not approach animals that they do not know.
- Residents should ensure their pets have a current rabies vaccination. If a pet is allowed outside, a booster vaccine is recommended. Outdoor pets should be kept inside until they receive booster vaccines.
- Do not feed stray or unknown animals, including cats and dogs.
- Do not leave trash or food outside, unless it is in a trash can with a tight-fitting lid.
- If a pet is fed outside, do not leave food out overnight.
- If a pet comes in contact with an animal that might be rabid, contact a veterinarian immediately.
